My thoughts today have turned toward the word preparedness. I remember back in the day, how Jim and his friends prepared for many weeks before a hunt. So many things to gather and think about before they went on their journey! Camp stuff, horses, guns, ammo, food, license, supplies, and more supplies. And the anticipation! There was a plan, a place, pick-ups, trailers and desire!!! They knew the rules and were ready to play by them. There was an order, a common thread.....they valued friendships, animals and the strategy and concentration of the search. All that stuff made me tired. But those guys absolutely lived for those outings. You know, we can learn so much in preparedness. Working together. Common goals. Common ideals. God has given us so much in this world to enjoy and prepare for. And we all have many things in our day to get ready for. Probably not as much as our hunters....but preparation is necessary. In work, play, sports, child rearing, marriages. Bet God knew we would spend most of our days thinking about plans. But the most important preparation is this one.....to know Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. And the sweet anticipation......1Cor. 2:9 No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind conceived what a God has prepared for those who love Him. Glory!
