My time in India seems so long ago in some ways. It was just this past February, when I was in Kerala taking a textile workshop. Much of what I made is still neatly folded waiting for the muse of creativity to call. You may recall, that I posted some photos of the Nuno felt I made during this time - that is felting merino wool onto silk. After the felting was done, the new fabric was tied up and dyed. The creative muse was right there with me as I made that fabric telling me it would be a vest. Good thing she spoke up then as I had to make a little more fabric to have enough for the project I was conceptualizing. Well, here it is. The vest. The pockets and yoke are nuno felt also but in those areas the wool portion is inside and the silk is exposed. For the body of the vest, it is just the opposite.
