My top 15 favorite oscar nominated films of the 1970s: #2 Jaws (1975) Directed by Steven Spielberg Starring: Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss. Nominated for 4 academy awards and won 3 for score, editing and sound. When a gigantic great white shark begins to menace the small island community of Amity, a police chief (Scheider), a marine scientist (Dreyfuss) and a grizzled fisherman (Shaw) set out to stop it. This movie was a phenomenon when it came out, that got millions of people afraid of going for a swim. It so incredible suspenseful that its match hasnt been seen since Hitchcock. And though One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest is a wonderful film, I truly belive this should have won best picture. What does the M4s think of this film?
