My top 15 favorite oscar nominated films of the 1990s: #3 Goodfellas (1990) Directed by Martin Scorsese Starring: Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco and Paul Sorvino. Nominated for 6 academy awards and won 1 for supports actor (Pesci). The story of Henry Hill (Liotta) and his two friends Jimmy Conway (De Niro) and Tommy De Vito (Pesci) and how they work their way up the ranks in the Italian mob hierachy. The fact that Scorseses amazing mafia epos neither won best director or best picture is unbelievable. Dont get me wrong Dances With Wolves is a good film but doesnt hold a candle to Goodfellas. Especially Joe Pesci (yes the guy from Home Alone) is absolutely brilliant as the psychotic Tommy De Vito. What does the M4s think of this film?
