My tweenager just left for a quick after supper dip in the pool. With 7 bucks from his mom and his towel with dry shorts for afterward in a plastic shopping bag swinging from his wrist, he hopped on his new 24 inch bike and headed down to the park. He didnt even want me to drive him there. He insisted on going in search of a good time on his own, hoping to find other kids to hang with and maybe make a couple friends. That all sounds cool. I love his love for action and being out and about with others, enjoying the outdoors instead of sitting on his duff playing video games. But... no MOM??! *sniff* Hes never been to the pool without me before. Im not sure whether to laugh or cry. One eye started to water when I chuckled while I watched him ride away.
