My twin sister convinced me that every time I walked through the emergency room to get to the nursery/birthing floor at the hospital last week, that I was supposed to hold my breath. She said the air-born germs were prevalent, so being the sister who doesnt know anything I held my breath every walk-through. I had to remain germ-free. Then, one evening, my son (the new daddy) and hubby and myself, we were going back to the hospital after nine at night and had to go inside through emergency -- and at the door, outside, I announced, Hold your breath. Dont breathe. I explained why, and they did not obey me. But I sucked in the last outside-air-breath and followed them inside, and a zillion sick folks sat in all the chairs, some leaned on the walls and another hundred or so (exaggeration) gave me little walking space to get through the room. Right before the last row of chairs, right before I was free to exhale, a man, a woman, and another man ALL knew me and one of them grabbed my hand, shaking it, greeting me. I grinned, but did not exhale or inhale, I just smiled. Then, around the corner at the first dispenser of antibacterial hand cream, I made a discovery, it was empty. So I held my arm out like it was lifeless, like I didnt want to touch it either. Hubby asked me what I was doing ... I explained, but the sigh he gave me did not make my right hand germ free. I finally found a dispenser with bacterial hand cream and its safe to say I used most of the container. My right hand thanked me ... right before I got dizzy from forgetting to breathe...lol ... PS: I do not have germ-phobia. I dont. Do I? Maybe...?
