My utterly IRRESPONSIBLE Federal MP Barnaby Joyce has potentially dudded his Victorian State National Party colleagues out of party status after his disastrous statement that because the Federal seat that Shepparton, the state seat is a part of, is held by the Liberals, then the Nationals had no responsibility to fight for SPC....what a joke. :P State Nationals are particularly furious at federal Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce, who said this week that it was not up to the Nationals to fight for Sheppartons SPC fruit processing plant because it was in a seat held federally by the Liberal Party. But there is also anger at the state Liberal Party, which ran candidates against the Nationals in the seat of Euroa. It remains unclear whether the party will renew the formal agreement, which expired at the election. The issue will be discussed at a Nationals party room meeting on Wednesday. One Coalition source said the formal Coalition agreement was unlikely to last the week. The two parties formally split in 1999 after Jeff Kennetts election loss was largely blamed on a poor performance in the regions. But it was patched up again in 2008, with both sides agreeing the alliance gave them the best chance of defeating Labor.
