Heres something entertaining to watch, but do know: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or ALS (more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease) is a neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells and pathways in the spinal cord and brain. Its when these cells die that voluntary muscle control and movement are no longer possible. Those in the later stages of the disease become are paralyzed, even though their minds function properly. More than 5,000 people are diagnosed with this disease each year. Its money from these challenges that helps go towards research to fighting the disease.
