My very dear Facebook friends I have such difficult news to tell you. Our beloved and darling John passed away yesterday evening after a long and very difficult six month battle. The last three weeks had been particularly difficult and yesterday was the hardest day of all. He was nursed with such love and tenderness at the Hospice at the end and the staff there were anxious to reassure us that John felt no pain and was not aware that his body was failing him. He passed away with each of his precious children holding his hands and telling him how very much they loved him. He was surrounded by love as he went. It gives us such enormous comfort to know that John has moved on to a far better place where there will be no more tears or suffering and our faith gives us the certainty that we will one day be reunited and will never have to part again. For now though, we are starting the long and difficult journey of having to carry on without this wonderful, funny, gracious, kind and loving man in our lives.
