My views for this Art foundation…… Feat that Jasu Shilpi achieved being a bronze woman ---by dhruv shipi (son) A lady who never participated at any art competition nor she ever held any art show at any art galleries and not a contemporary artist. she was a contemporary woman by her thoughts, she achieved this feat only cause of her spirit and skill. Her feat cannot be separated by any art forms, isms or categories. It is untrue, if I not mention that her dawn and dusk were always in those bronzes, her studio and her worker was her family. Her tools and equipments were her true friends. She was like a coconut for me, outer shell very hard, inside she was truly emotional. Rare feat of her was a power to visualize in whatever she do, she was very organized person in daily routines. I can mention here her achievements in a lists but that isn’t enough to salute that spirit she showed being a woman. She was courageous lady and a smart entrepreneur. I can`t define her by a cluster of words, I can see the past where she used run around for work on a old trotted vespa scooter from Ahmedabad to Rajkot Surat, Bhuj etc during 70`s, where woman driving scooter seems where rare. Her courage only took her to such ventures, it may be her old second hand ambassador car which she used to drove to Mumbai and such place in early 80`s. As a child i always on the back seat of car, used to hear noise of street guys shouting and making mock for a lady driving a car during those days. Right to mention here my dad always loved her, he was genuine artist and never interfere in marketing skill of my mother. He never drove a bicycle ever, but my mother used to drive the scooter, me and my sister on front and back and dad in the middle, quite enjoyable stuff in those days. She was from business oriented family that skill helped her in her profession as a sculptor. To be contd ……
