My visit with Lily today. First of all, shes an absolute doll! She will be a gift to brighten someones life, for sure! The sweetness drips off her. She is reserved at first..but only at first. I really think shes intelligent, and she knows this isnt the way her life or any of the other babies in there should be. She immediately warmed up to me but I wonder if my homemade turkey and yogurt treats were what really won her over (yeah Im sure that had a little to do with it)! Im posting video and pics below. I wasnt sure if Id see that tail wag, but when I got up to head out, she gave me lots of tail wags, and acted like she wanted to leave with me!! Which was totally heartbreaking, because Id love nothing more than to waltz her right out of there. All of her goodies were there from yesterday and I brought her a pad for raised bed frame they have..and a bone (real) stuffed with lamb flavored goo. That bone seemed to be a hit with her :) Hope others can get down there to see her to keep her spirits up..which I will say I think her spirits are up (thanks to all you other amazing ladies) and hopefully from the DAS staff. She does not seem to cower or show extreme anxiety that I could detect. Not this visit anyway. I think she knows better days are ahead for her!
