My wife Cindy and I took a trip to the Antigo flats that turned out to be thrilling and photographically very challenging. No bluebird sky today - the lousy No Light day with 18% grey skies didnt seem to be very promising at the outset. However the sheer numbers of owls present (we saw and photographed 6 in total!) gave us all we could hope for in opportunities to test our abilities. Exposure was the key today and adjustment of compensations played a huge part in getting the shot. White birds (males 2 total) and not so white birds (females 4 total) against those skies provided a real challenge. Heres one of the six lovely birds we found today, a female near of the Antigo airport on Hwy 52 . . .
