My wife, Frances, and I participated in History Comes Alive, - TopicsExpress

My wife, Frances, and I participated in History Comes Alive, sponsored by the Sherman Historical Museum. This is the second year for us to be a part of this very worthy event that truly brings local history into focus with a unique presentation at West Hill Cemetery. I really believe that Frances was one of the stand-outs this year with her portrayal of Electra Waggoner-Biggs. She was dressed to the nines in a vintage cocktail dress and a pair of elegant evening gloves, courtesy of our friend and costume expert, Joanna Clark. (See images) Electra was a socialite, an heiress and a sculptor (Frances is standing in front of a statue she created). She dated Hollywood producers and actors such as Jimmy Stewart. There is much more but Ill simply allow the reader to explore that on their own. Our fair Sherman, Texas has a very interesting past and much of it will surprise you. A stroll through West Hill Cemetery to view the markers and memorials (such s Waggoner-Biggs) can be something of a pleasant history lesson and even an eye opener.
