My wife Pixie Agbulos called my attention to a mother with her child who seemed to be both very sick and weak sitting at the sidewalk at Harbor View, CCP Complex. Pixie thought that the child was dying and she prompted me to check them out. We saw someone alighting from a red Honda CRV and gave her some money. God bless your heart whoever you may be. I approached her and was told that her son was undergoing dialysis along with some bone marrow issues. Her son had two wound dressings somewhere at the spinal cord area - one in the middle and one at the lower part. The mother said that they were awaiting promised help from a radio station who did not show up to meet with them. Her son was so weak, unable to stand on his own and needs to be carried around by his fragile and frail mother, both of them starving. I was filled with compassion and mercy and gave them some treat at nearby Jollibee. I also gave them some amount to spend for her sons medication. I thank God for that opportunity to have served and made a difference in other peoples lives. I pray for healing for both of them. May God touch them and make them whole once again. I thank my beloved wife for noticing and prompting me to attend to them - a call to action. In my heart, I understood that Christmas is all about being like Christ - not just the gift of salvation, but also of compassion, mercy and generosity for others. God bless you!
