My wife and I went to a Home Show this afternoon near Dulles - TopicsExpress

My wife and I went to a Home Show this afternoon near Dulles Airport in Virginia, outside Washingon, DC. As I often do, I had on a Wisconsin (UW) Logo shirt. One of the vendors at the show saw this, stopped me, and jokingly started to quiz me. How well do you know Wisconsin? ME: Pretty well. Vendor: Name a town about an hour or so north of Milwaukee where submarines were built? ME: Thats easy, Manitowoc. Vendor: What is the name of the high school in that town....on a hill over the lake. ME: Even easier..... Lincoln Vendor: There is a burger joint near that high school, name it. ME: Too easy, common knowledge, Lates. Vendor you must be from there. ME: Yup! It turns out the fellow was the owner of a moving and storage company in Northern Virginia and was from Manitowoc. His name is Ed Graves and he told me that he and his family moved to Manitowoc when he was in 2nd grade and that he graduated from Roncalli High in 1990, and went to Holy Innocents in grade school. He joined the military shortly after graduation and ended up in the DC area and started this business when he got out of service. He actually lived on the street, Atlanta Circle, which is next to my mother-in-laws former house on Camden Ct. My wife and I chatted with him for about 15 minutes.
