My wife and daughters and I went to the restaurant, Spaghetti - TopicsExpress

My wife and daughters and I went to the restaurant, Spaghetti Bender in Newport Beach tonight. Let me first preface what I am about to share by saying that I never complain about the food or service I get in a restaurant. Im just not that guy. However, theres a limit to the amount of abuse I will take at an eating establishment. So let me explain. We entered the restaurant and were informed that there was a half hour wait for a table. The wait was expected since we did not have a reservation. However, we did find it a bit odd that no one offered the possibility of having a drink at the bar while we waited. Once we accidentally stumbled upon the bar area, my wife asked me to go order us each a glass of wine while we waited. The sign at the bar suggested an Italian wine, which sounded interesting. When I asked the bar tender for two glasses of the wine advertised, she acted like she had no idea what I was talking about. I had to point out the sign directly behind her. She explained that she didnt know where that bottle was. I settled for a house Merlot which wasnt cheap at 10 dollars a glass. Eventually, we were seated. My daughters, and wife and I each ordered a meal and my wife and I ordered two more glasses of wine. Shortly here after, my daughters meals were brought to the table along with a single glass of wine.Through much effort, I had to flag down the waiter to ask for the second glass of wine I had ordered. Thirty to forty minutes passed. My daughters finished their dinners and my wife and my meal had still never arrived. Never once did the waiter return to our table, following our initial order, to ascertain how we were enjoying the meal, or to offer an explanation why only one half of the people at our table had received their meals. Because my daughters eventually finished eating and were growing tired, I once again flagged down our waiter to explain that we needed a doggy bag for my daughters left-overs and our bill. Figuring that accidents happen and, still wanting to be reasonable, my wife and I took this opportunity to explain to our waiter that we had never gotten our meals. At this time the waiter, who remained unapologetic, explained that he would get our meals and, that we could take them to go. Because we just wanted to get out of there, we agreed to take the forgotten meals and my daughters left-overs to-go. Moments later when the to-go bag arrived, not only had the waiter thrown out our daughters meals which we explicitly asked to take with us, but the delinquent meals he did box up for my wife and I, were the wrong order. This was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. I asked for the manager who was the first to be apologetic and, we left shortly there after without leaving a tip. We just couldnt see fit tipping someone who had made so many mistakes and, had left my wife and I without having dinner. What would you do? Have you ever had similar bad restaurant experiences?
