My wife to the rescue... So on the last leg of our trip from South Africa back to the UK we caught a flight from Frankfurt to Birmingham aboard Lufthansa. We had a medical emergency after one of the passengers collapsed while the plane was mid air. The crew asked if there was a doctor or nurse onboard? My wife (a nurse) stood up without hesitation and ran straight to where the lady was. I watched her take blood blood pressure levels and administer the appropriate care required in the situation. Its one of those moments you appreciate people who know their trade and assist people in times of medical crises. And to think in the whole plane with about 200 people she was the only person with the training to help was a miracle. She spent the last 1 hour of her trip away from her family while attending to and stabilising a patient on the plane who was seriously ill right up to when the plane landed and an ambulance was called at Birmingham Airport. I just want to say to her, Mercy Chamunorwa Guma I am very proud of you.
