My wife was just given rules for decorating her office door for the upcoming holiday in her office. Rule number one: no reference to anything religious. It seems that the war on Christianity is making more and more progress against us every year. We are forgetting one very large, important thing: Co-existence. I speak openly about my religious beliefs on facebook. Everyone knows who I am. I have Jewish friends and Roman Catholic friends who do the same. One of my friends is a pastor of a Baptist (I think) congregation in my town, and I have attended his Church many times. All my friends can speak out, and express themselves. That is co-existence. THERE IS NO CO-EXISTENCE when there is no EXISTENCE at all. When no expression is allowed, then there is no existence. And without existence, there is no co-existence. I went to school with a Jehovas Witness boy, who is still my facebook friend. He comments on my posts from time to time. In the 1950s he never rose to salute the flag in the classroom: we all understood and tolerated him, without being hateful. He tolerated us. Maybe TOLERANCE is what is needed. Tolerance has served our nation since the 1600s: until now.
