My wise friend Judy Doss just posted this, and I just had to capture and share it with you :) We have to take risks in order to enjoy abundance. That is part of why I spontaneously decided to make that menorah out of my favorite wine bottles Ive been collecting...to me those individual bottles (the pretty labels, the goodness and uniqueness of each wines flavor) represent moments in time when I paused to enjoy and reflect on my life...and Ive been saving those bottles to do something creative and special with, but I still had no idea what. As a matter of fact, my husband had been trying to try me to get rid of them if I didnt use them. When I was feeling despondent over not being able to go shopping (due to my car accident recovery) to find a menorah to celebrate Thanksgivukkah - I asked God how I could use what Hes already given me at home...and it was then that I thought of those bottles. I got all excited because I knew it was using what he had given me that already held special meaning but was going to be stepping outside of the box of what is traditionally used by doing so. This has now made for a new and special unique addition for our family...because I was willing to take a risk to do something to create more abundance added to our typical Thanksgiving meal. Same goes for anyone having an entrepreneurial spirit and acting on the decision to start a new business venture in order to hopefully improve the outcome of your life to the best of your ability...and other things like that - like going back to school to be better equipped for getting a better career that will be more fulfilling...and giving/tithing more - holding onto things more loosely in order to make more room for more! When we take a posture of creating for more, we typically gain what we expect! If we only look for it without creating that room...I think that when we wind up disappointed, having looked to others to create that instead of ourselves. We also need to not hold onto other things so tightly, being unwilling to let them go - because only when we let go of them is more room made to be given even better than we already had!
