My work is lifestyle, but, no! its not Lifestyle like a magazine, say, as in leisure, fashion or the shallowness of consumerism, but lifestyle as in the whole interactive essentials of living within the limited cultural sphere of an alternative way of living. Lifestyle craftsmanship isn’t then a career schedule that fractures off work life from home life, family, children and spouses, partners and so on, but a dynamic that’s as totally inclusive of all as possible. Lifestyle like this often eschews competition to be, well, more inclusive than exclusive. It’s something I came to not from the advice or influence of others but as a conscious exchange of career for life. I’m glad I woke even to the possibility such a thought might become a reality. I found a place of normalcy at last where I make no excuses for my work, choosing mostly how I would work and found out that it can indeed be a chosen path. So, I teach, I make and I draw. At the other end I now look back and say to myself, “Thank goodness I chose life.”
