My work schedule has changed a bit this week, so my posting will be different. Thanks for your patience. I wanted to comment about the Wyoming Checkerboard gather thats taking place. The ranchers in the area sued the BLM to remove the horses from the area and so horses within 20 miles of I-80 are being removed. Thats the majority of the horses that Ive been posting recently, although I only have confirmation of one of the bands so far. White Mountain is *not* on the list for removal this year. There ARE still horses in each HMA but there is nothing to keep the remaining horses from migrating back into the areas that are being cleared. I hope that the other horses that Ive seen recently have migrated outside of the 20 mile area before the gather but I dont know. I DO know that there are lawsuits coming into place to prevent these areas from being gathered again, at least in this capacity. Until then, please help by sharing the photos out so that they get as much exposure as possible for a good home. I would love to know where these horses end up so that I can continue following their lives, or at least to get copies of my photos into the hands of their new people. I do have a Twitter account but I dont use it often. Ill try to get links to the photos over there later this week and then posted here as well.
