My young friend Elliott Skaggs is wise beyond his years - My sentiments exactly, I refuse to disrespect the dead, even those that did terrible things in life. Its tempting to give in to eye for an eye mentality. But if we really claim to stand on principles of love like we claim to, we must be better then that. Fred Phelps life is at an end, he did some terrible things with his life, I do not condone the things he did, but lets not embody that vary mentality of disrespecting the dead, us vrs them, and all that we are oppressed and hurt by. There will always be people who hate in this world, but let our movement, the one that rallies behind a symbol of tolerance, diversity, inclusiveness, and freedom to be different yet still remaining united (that is what the rainbow flag has come to mean) be remembered by the principles upon which it stands, different colors (ways of life, thinking, loving, and being) all united in harmony. That the legacy of it go on in history to be remembered as a movement that maintained its integrity, and stood by such noble principles, as history remembers Fred Phelps and his legacy as what it was.....humiliating the dead, and people that were different, let us not embody that very same thing.....
