#MyVoteForModi Why I support Narendra Modi for Prime Ministership? In no company do we ever see a fresher being elevated as CEO. Then why is it in politics we expect someone with no experience at running administration at Municipal or State level to be the Prime Minister? And why do we have CMs with no experience in running administration at Panchayat or Municipal level? Today Barack Obama is considered the worst POTUS, People in US say this is because Obama has never been Governor of any State and has been made POTUS directly. George Bush, Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan had experience as Governors before they were elevated as POTUS. Of all our PMs till date, only PV Narasimha Rao, Deve Gowda and Morarji Desai were CMs before they became PM. Of these, only PVNR ruled for full term of 5 years. Of all the PMs who has ruled for 5 years or more, PVNR arguably has been the best . Sardar Patel was probably the best PM we never head. He is reputed to be a great administrator. One may argue that he wasnt CM of any Province. Sardar Patel was municipal President of Ahmedabad in 1922, 1924 and 1927 . This is a lesser known fact!!!! .During his terms, Ahmedabad was extended a major supply of electricity and the school system underwent major reforms. Drainage and sanitation systems were extended over all the city. So, its not that Sardar suddenly acquired the ability to run the country as Home Minister and Deputy PM!!!! I would like to ask all AAP supporters. Delhi isnt even a full-fledged state...just a glorified Municipality. When this city was entrusted to him for 5 years, he quit in 48 days. Kejriwal who cant prove himself as a capable administrator of a city, what he can run the country as PM? It is not lack of results or mistakes of Kejriwal that puts a question mark on him. 48 days is too less to evaluate for results. And a newbie may make some mistakes. It was lack of application to task on hand by engaging in Dharna, daily TV appearances and finally quitting that puts a question mark on him. We need as PM someone who is a mass leader with a proven track record as CM. Narendra Modi fits the bill fully. Gujarat has seen development in roads, power sector, transport, e-governance, agriculture, industry. World Bank has applauded the quality of Gujarat roads as even better than international standards. Gujarat was a state in which curfews were very frequent. In last 12 years, there were no curfews. This brings us to the unfortunate incidents of February 2002 in Gujarat. I wouldnt go into the argument saying there was much less loss of lives in 2002 than in other riots when Congress CMs were in saddle in Gujarat and other states.We are not talking of cricket scores here but human lives. There should be no reason why even one life should be lost. Having said that, efforts were made by Modi to control the riots. Police fired rounds on the violent mobs. There were Hindu and Muslim casualties some 790 muslims and 254 Hindus. It wasnt like Delhi 1984 where there was no Police firing. Modi was barely 4 months into his job as CM. He had no experience previously at Municipal/even Panchayat level. He wasnt even an MLA. He was as raw as Arvind Kejriwal. He would have felt like quitting but he didnt. He applied himself to the task and developed Gujarat and got re-elected thrice. SC-appointed-SIT clean-chitted him. Even Magistrate Court has cleared him. Today, undoubtedly Modi is the best candidate for PM. Was a totally raw Modi the best CM candidate then in 2002? Doesnt administrative experience at any level make a difference? See how badly Akhilesh Yadav is floundering in UP. He was equally raw CM. And he hasnt got to grips even in 2 years! The way forward for Indian democracy is to insist that PM be a person who has proven track record as CM. And also insist on track record for CM as CM post is no less important. Indian democracy will set an unwritten rule starting with Modi that PM should be one with track record as CM and CM also should be one with track record. Experiments be done at municipal level only.
