Myanmar is winner 2014 :D BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar won the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy (HBT) for ASEAN Youth Football Tournament 2014 on Saturday night after beating Vietnam 4-3 at the National Stadium in Brunei Darussalam. It was a highly contested and thrilling final with five goals scored in the second half. Myanmar dominated the game from the start with their good possession. In the 17th minute, Myanmar defender Myo Ku Tun tapped in from close range after Vietnam goalkeeper Le Van Truong failed to clear the ball away from a corner. Phan Van Long of Vietnam tied the score 1-1 five minutes before the interval. Vietnam took the lead in the 49th minute with striker Ho Tuan Tais delightful left foot shot in the 49th minute. However, defender Myo and his teammate Maung Maung Soe scored in the 59th and 61st respectively to gift Myanmar 3-2 lead. Man of the Match Nguyen Cong Phuong soon equalized for Vietnam to gave the Vietnamese team a glimpse of hope in the 70th minute but it was Myanmars Aung Thu who score the winning goal in the 82nd minute. Myanmar who claimed as the winner for the first time in this tournament walked away with a cash prize of 20,000 Brunei dollars (about 16,130 U.S. dollars) and medals. Vietnam, runners-up, won the cash prize of 10,000 Brunei dollars (about 8,065 U.S. dollars) and medals. Adi Said of Brunei won the golden boot award with six goals in the tournament. Both Thailand and Malaysia who lost 1-0 and 3-0 to Vietnam and Myanmar respectively in the semifinals walked away with cash prize of 5,000.00 Brunei dollars (about 4,032 U.S. dollars). The tournament has attracted 11 teams under the age of 21. They were divided into two groups that kicked off on Aug. 9. Group A contained East Timor, Laos, the Philippines, Myanmar and Thailand, where Brunei were in Group B alongside Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and Indonesia.
