Mystery Bird Contest # 26 This is the last contest for the year 2014! Identify the bird in the picture. This may be difficult and hence even answers mentioning the broad family is acceptable like Accipiters, Kingfishers, Egrets etc. This bird is essentially a forest bird not commonly found near human habitations. Surprisingly it was found in Batim Forested Hills (around 6 km from Panjim, capital of Goa) which unfortunately is being stripped for a big mega housing project.. Bird size can be compared to a White rumped Munia. This edition may be tough but I hope you will appreciate that you will be learning a great deal on habitats and smaller birds which we often ignore!
