Mystery of rubber ducks ‘stuffed with cash’ is solved The Little Yellow Duck project was started by British mother Ann Rowcliff, from Peterborough, after her 26-year-old daughter Clare Cruickshank died on April 15, 2013 from cystic fibrosis after doctors failed to find a lung transplant. Before Clare died, she asked her mother to donate her own organs – and her corneas ended up restoring sight to two people. The ducks are meant to highlight the importance of donating organs, with Ratcliff offering free knitting patterns for anyone who wants to create their own. metro.co.uk/2014/12/29/mystery-of-rubber-ducks-stuffed-with-cash-is-solved-5002554/
