Myth #3: vegans are just extreme people who want to show up - TopicsExpress

Myth #3: vegans are just extreme people who want to show up vegetarians. Nope. We are vegan because vegetarianism (still consuming eggs and dairy products) is just as cruel as eating meat. A cow has to be pregnant before she can produce milk. Therefore, she is forcibly impregnated. Her calf is stripped away from her (and she cries the most mournful cries as her baby is stolen from her), because the calf will drink up all of our milk. Then she will repeat this process until she is too exhausted to stand on her own. She will then be sent to the slaughter to be turned into ground meat. Her female calves will be grown to repeat the process of their mother while the males will be placed in a crate to be turned into veal. All of them will be denied the natural food from their mothers breast and will live a very malnourished life. Eggs? They are terrible too. The mother hens are placed in crates no bigger than an iPads surface. Stacked on top of each other, they have no room to move, peck, or scratch like they would in nature as they simply cannot move. They are given growth hormones to produce as many eggs as possible until they are exhausted then they are disposed of (and sold to you as meat). In search for more hens, some chickens will be forcibly fertilized and their eggs will be hatched. All males will be ground up alive or suffocated in a plastic bag while the females will have their beaks burned off and raised to have the same fate as their mother. Yes, egg production is natural for the mother hens because it is part of their menstrual cycle (please wrap your head around the fact that you are eating a birds period). However, like all things in nature, the eggs are not useless and therefore up-for-grabs. It is actually really healthy for the hen to eat her eggs as it provides nutrients for her body (much as a human mother may eat her placenta for the nutrients). Btw: here is a video of a humane cow farm for you all. You know, the kind that takes care of their cows and you can feel good about them having happy lives before you bite into their dead flesh. Here you can see how the most expensive and well-treated cows on the market live. (This is not a graphic video).
