N.Y. GUN OWNERS. How about when a police officer wants to count your rounds ask to see his search warrant, it is a search pursuant to the 4th Amendment. Having a 10 round mag does not give rise to a "reasonable suspicion" or "probable cause" because the 10 round magazines are legal to possess. The police must have an articulable suspicion that there are more than 7 in the magazine and it being a 10 round magazine does not give rise to this.
