N894m contract scam: Bankole to make a no-case submission Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Dimeji Bankole says he will file a no-case-submission before an Abuja Division Federal High Court in his trial over alleged contract inflation fraud. Following the conclusion of the prosecution’s case yesterday, defense counsel Wale Akoni (SAN) said he will make a no-case-submission to quash the charges on the next adjourned date. The ex-speaker was arraigned on a 16-counts criminal charge by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations that he influenced the purchase of three units of Mercedes Benz S-600 cars, two units of Range rover vehicles and 400 units of DSTV systems and other electronic gadgets without due process. The case has been adjourned to January 24, 2014 for Bankole to open his defense or make a no-case-submission.
