NA 122 debate: Under the scheme of election laws, a vote recount is decidedly different from a vote audit. The former just tabulates the numerical results of the polling material. The latter verifies and establishes the validity and legality of the votes polled. In the case of NA 122, the election tribunal had ordered the forensic analysis/audit of the polling material not its recount. There is no question of anyone getting a lead over anybody simce that is not the point of inquiry. The inquiry is about how many invalid/bogus/fake votes were cast, if any. The tribunal will decide the fate of Ayaz Sadiq based on the quantum of forgery and malpractices found in the polling process by the inspection commission, without any regard to any numerical lead of any candidate. Under Section 68 of ROPA, we will emerge victorious in this case, Inshallah!
