NA AASMAAN NA SITARE FAREB DETE HAIN - NEELA AAKASH 1965 Sung by: Lata Mangeshkar Music: Madan Mohan [ a very rare song… deleted from film] Click ‘See More’ for details and link NEELA AAKASH [starring Dharmendra and Mala Sinha ] was made through 63/ 64 but released in 65. Madan Mohanji had his busiest year in 64 with the music of Woh Kaun thi, Haqeeqat, Ghazal, Sharabi, Suhagan , Aap Ki Parchaiyan, Pooja Ke Phool etc.. each with a distinct score. Neela Aakash was a breezy entertainer and needed a lighter score than Madanji was normally associated with.. so it had some lovely duets like ‘ Aapko Pyar chhupane ki buri aadat hai’, ‘ Tere Paas Aake Mera Waqt’ and other fun songs, including a comedy song by Mehmood... it also had the Rafi Saab sentimental solo, ‘ Aakhri Geet Mohabbat Ka’. However it had no typical Lata- Madan Mohan sad song that their fans looked forward to. This song, ‘ NA AASMAAN NA SITARE FAREB DETE HAIN, with lyrics by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan ,was specially recorded to fill that gap. However,it did not get filmed as it would slow the film pace, and hence no video is available.. and this very pathos- laden song remained largely unheard, and of course unseen. We have a created a video for it , set to pics of the legendary singer – composer duo.. a song that is so emotionally true of these times! The composition , which may seem simple, has some nuances which make it very difficult to sing. Both the antras are composed differently.. it’s a must hear for Lataji- Madan Mohanji fans NA AASMAAN NA SITARE [ NEELA AAKASH 1965] youtu.be/XmUMNW8auSM
