NAA, I understand your desire to wage a war against gun violence. I do. People murdering others with guns is not a good thing. We agree. However, the stats show that it is illegal gun violence, in urban areas, that you should target, and not people like me who have undergone a rigorous FBI background check and have paid over 300 dollars to own a legal and Constitutionally-protected gun in CT. You demanded that the AR15 platform of guns be banned in CT. You demanded that high-capacity magazines also be banned and/or registered. Yet statistically speaking, rifles have killed less people than baseball bats. And furthermore, it is not rifles you should be focused on, it is handguns that you should be going after, since illegal handguns make up the majority of guns used in gun violence. Thanks. Avner Ronen NAA< Alos, when you say anti-trafficking laws, are you referring to my ability, as a permit-holding legal gun owner in CT, to buy a gun online from an FFL dealer in another State? Or are you referring to criminals bringing guns into CT illegally? Again, thank you for listening! Like · Reply · about a minute ago Avner Ronen NAA< I understand that, I do. But surely even you cannot tell me that criminals purchase their illegal guns through legitimate gun shops. It is that criminal element we both detest, right? And we already have background checks on said purchases that regulate legal purchases by the numbers. If you are seeking to regulate each and every gun transaction through Federal law or State law, I dont see how you can do that. No law can stop people from selling privately held property, to include guns. I am curious if you have a thrust to address mental health and gun purchasing, instead of being perceived as merely alienating and punishing law-abiding gun owners in CT. Because as it stands, your organization has the feel of a group that blames guns, and not people, for gun violence. Instead of being angry at an AR15, why not focus that anger on Adam Lanza and those like him? Keep in mind that he killed his own mother and stole her legal guns to commit his atrocity against society. Thanks for listening!
