NAACP Health Programs and NAACP Branches and chapters throughout - TopicsExpress

NAACP Health Programs and NAACP Branches and chapters throughout the nation have been working with local Health and Human Services offices to sign up the community for the Affordable Health Care marketplace—the last two events will take place this weekend in Atlanta and Houston. And because the deadline to sign up for the ACA marketplace is March 31st—this coming Monday, wed like to share this message from President Obama. Lorraine C. Miller Interim President and CEO NAACP I wanted to share an important update on our efforts to get Americans health care coverage. The deadline to enroll is Monday. If you know someone who still hasnt signed up for health care, tell them to go to HealthCare.gov and sign up right now. You know how important it is to make sure every American has access to affordable health care. Youve done such great work getting our African American communities covered so far—but we cant stop yet. After open enrollment ends on March 31, you wont be able to get covered through the marketplace until 2015. Now is the time for people to get covered. I know life is busy—and after all the troubles with the website early on, some folks have been hesitant to give it a second chance. But the website is working great now: Weve signed up more than 6 million Americans already, and more are signing up every day. But we need your help. Heres what we know: Talking to your friends and family will make all the difference. So pass this message on to one person who still needs to sign up for coverage. Tell them to go to HealthCare.gov right now and check out the options for themselves. The deadline is in two days. Our health is way too important to ignore—nobody can afford to just cross their fingers and hope for the best.
