NAACP to continue dialogue about possible police bias, racial profiling GALESBURG — The local branch of the NAACP is planning an open forum later this month targeted at the Galesburg Police Department’s handling of citizen interaction — specifically regarding police bias, racial profiling and brutality. The forum is in part a response to the events of Ferguson, Missouri, Galesburg NAACP President Candy Webb said, and is a continuation of last Friday’s prayer vigil in town. The flyer for the forum, to be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 18 at 424 Depot St., states the NAACP has been told by GPD “that based on their not receiving enough complaints regarding police bias, racial profiling, or police brutality, they don’t believe Galesburg has problems in that area.” galesburg/article/20141203/NEWS/141209927
