NAIJ READERS HAVE A SAY! Ever since the terrorists offered to negotiate with the Nigerian government, I expected them to have started that. You might disagree with me but this is probably the closest solution. Lets assume the children of one of these politicians is one of the abducted, wouldnt they negotiate? It is the height of insensitivity about the lives of these children and their parents that would make an already indolent government no to do so. I totally agree with you that swapping criminals with innocents is not in order but we have to do whatever is necessary to get these lasses back to their families. Consider the psychological and social situation of the abducted each minute they spend with their abductors. The longer they stay, the worse it becomes for their lives. The thought of negotiation should be done systematically however. Forget about the help of the foreign spies for once to put this into perspective. We all know that any attempt to forcefully release these girls would be fatal considering the terrorists lack of value for human lives. We thus have to be cunningly logical here. Since priority one is #BringBackOurGirls, we shouldnt be bothered about other things for now. In fact, swapping the criminals could be a ploy to get hold of the dreaded Shekau and other Boko Haram High Commanders. Definitely, those released would want to unite with their masters. You could easily ambush these ones or have some location tracking devices embedded in their body to identify wherever they might have fled to. By this, they could be easily rearrested. Although this is not a security experts view, I am being human here. We all know that there is God (o)! He had bestowed us with reasoning ability. Let us reason together: What if two of those girls were President Jonathans adopted daughters (The Jonathans have a number of adopted family members, you know!)? Wouldnt they rather negotiate?
