We met at UCLA and were married August 12, 1973 DID YOU MARRY A CLASSMATE? no WHERE DID YOU GO TO COLLEGE? UCLA WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE IN HIGH SCHOOL? A neurosurgeon (!!!! Huh????) WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION? Retired. I was the Public Safety Manager for the City of Carson, CA WHAT IS THE MOST UNUSUAL JOB YOU EVER HAD? Associate Producer of a game show (1971-1976 – “Joker’s Wild” and a few other short-lived games shows and pilots) WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT SINCE HIGH SCHOOL? Personal: Getting married – and staying married – for 40 years, raising a good son. Professional: Doing my best to keep the folks in Carson safe from floods, earthquakes, riots and a few refinery incidents… and getting through “Y2K” (remember all those scary predictions?) WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF? Maintaining a healthy balance between personal and professional life: a great husband with whom to share a fun retirement; and a career, while unforeseen in high school, turned out to be immensely satisfying and worthwhile. NAME 3 OF YOUR FAVORITE SONGS IN HIGH SCHOOL? “Sound of Silence,” “Light my Fire,” “Love is Blue” (the theme of our high school prom). WHERE DID YOU LIKE TO HANG OUT? The beach at Station 14. WHAT DID YOU DO IN HIGH SCHOOL THAT NO ONE KNEW ABOUT? Can’t think of anything. Pretty much what you see is what you get. WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY? Double dating with Henri Blits and Patti Paisley and my high school boyfriend, Buddy (George) McDaniel and the four of us going to Mario’s in Westwood or the Captain’s Table on La Cienega. The four of us at Prom and Grad Nite was pretty terrific too. I have lots of great memories of high school: First football game as a Sergeanette, first parade down Wilshire Blvd; going to Catalina Island on the Sea Witch with Carol Follete and girl scouts; going on field trips to the San Diego Zoo with Mr. Campbell (my favorite teacher) and the biology Club; getting accepted to UCLA. WHO IS THE ONE PERSON IN HIGH SCHOOL THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE AGAIN? Henri Blits, God rest his soul.
