Vogel in Providence, Rhode Island sentenced Luis Laboy to two years in prison for maliciously killing his ex-girlfriends dog in September reported ABC6.News. The stiff sentence also requires Laboy to perform 100 hours of community service after he completes his prison term, donate $1,000 to an animal shelter and is banned from owning or living with any domestic animal for 15 years. A sentence for domestic violence of an additional year in prison and probation has been suspended. On September 23, Vogels ex-girlfriend returned to the couples apartment to gather her personal belongings after the couple broke up. When she arrived, her three-month-old Chihuahua, named Blacky was dead. During the confrontation about the puppy, Vogel pushed her, smashed her cell phone and chased her while holding the dead puppy in his hand. A necropsy performed by the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals stated the puppy died from blunt force trauma. A jury found Vogel guilty last month. Rest in peace Blacky. Your death was senseless, but you did get some justice.
