Made a diagram showing hand lead line soundings all around the ship??? What all will you do ? 8. Pilot stn inside breakwater- 5nm. 090 course.. Southerly current 3 kts... wind - 25 KTs South Westerly. Various speeds given... Buoyed channel.. Approach???? He wants you to counteract the current and allow leeway.....Same as 2nd mates function. Chartwork 9. Helicopter operations.. Sick person landing. 10. You are on a bulk Carrier with 5 holds. No1 to No4 hold fully filled. No5 Hold partially filled. Cargo is grain. Will you sail out from the port ??? what all measures you will take ?? 11. You are on a general cargo ship, you have to load 20t package. Size 2M X 2M, Load density 2t/m2..... Can you load?? I said no, Then he says owners wants you to load, what will you do..?? Basically he want to hear that u will use Dunnage in order to spread wt. 12. Which type of Lifeboat you had on your last vessel. 13. How will you launch Free Fall lifeboat and recover the same ?? 14. Precautions and measures for stowaway..?? 15. Alarms settings of IG system ? 16. LOF 2011 and SCOPIC Was called in by Capt Jaikumar Post lunch - He asked what went wrong with cargo part, i said that i am not a bulky hand so was not knowing the exact answer,However during lunch break i managed to find the same. Then asked whats the answer, and he was satisfied with it. Then his next question was.. 1. You are on a bulk carrier , loading bagged sugar. The shore persons are using hooks and damaging the bags. Mate has claused the mate’s receipt. Charter’s want Clean B/L. What will you do as a master ?? 2. What do you mean by P&I club? How does it works? 3. CLC limits, under which circumstances owner cannot Limit his Liability?? Capt Miranda is a very practical person and wont show any expression on his face. You just keep answering. On the other hand Capt Jaikumar is a man full of expressions. He said he has asked questions which he usually dosent asks to Master candidates, its good that you were aware of things and that shows you have put in efforts. I declare you PASS..!!!!
