NASA: NASA is developing a 3-D printer for the International Space Station that would allow them to email hardware to space, eliminating the need to physically launch it. The space agency demonstrated the first test run of the device on Monday, the first step in creating an on-demand machine that will enable it to manufacture spare parts entirely in outer space. NASAs 3-D Printing Project Manager Niki Werkheiser emphasised the importance of this innovation in saying I think were making history by the first time ever being able to make what we need, when we need it, in space.
