NASA Number crunch for you. 4 out of 5 rockets launched by - TopicsExpress

NASA Number crunch for you. 4 out of 5 rockets launched by Orbital Science have made it to the International Space station, at the cost of 457 million taxpayer dollars over the course of the last 6 years, roughly 76 Million dollars per year. (Million with an M) Compare this to the 13-year-long Military actions in Afghanistan and Iraq, totaling approximately 4 Trillion. Average cost 300 Billion taxpayer dollars per year to blow up brown people in the middle east. Billion with a B, as in bwuh? The Obama administration claims that the actions against ISIS will be minimal, no boots on the ground, but airstrikes for as much as 3 years. Costs estimated at 10 Billion taxpayer dollars per year. AGAIN, BILLION. While the loss of 200 million dollar rocket is by no means a success, it isnt a total loss, as we learn from our mistakes and continue to strive towards mankinds goal of slipping the surly bonds. The loss of the latest Antares rocket was embarrassing, and certainly painful to watch, but we can find solace in the fact that Nasas oversight didnt cause the death of anybody. we will rebuild, we will continue looking towards the sky, and NASA will eventually carry us all to the stars in the name of universal understanding and exploration. On our way to space, we will develop new and more fascinating technology, increasing our lifespans, creating infrastructure for the future and ultimately creating a better life for all of mankind, instead of hindering the growth and worldwide understanding our global culture is capable of. meanwhile in the middle east, for the arguably-moral task of death and destruction, we spend on average 100 times as much. The balance for 50 years worth of Science by Nasa is Dwarfed by a single year of defense spending. (See Inlay) Balance the budget and lets get off this rock before we scorch it.
