NASA SDO - Lunar Transit, September 24, 2014 On September 24, 2014 the Moon made a quick appearance and transited through my field of view. At approx. 06:48 UT the Moon entered from the bottom right and moved across to the upper left where it exited the Sun at approx. 07:21 UT. The Moons crisp horizon can be seen up against the Sun, because the Moon does not have an atmosphere. (At other times of the year, like last week, when Earth blocks my view, the Earths horizon looks fuzzy due to its atmosphere.)
