NASCAR K&N SERIES EVENT SATURDAY The NASCAR K&N Pro Series Jegs 150 presented by Germain Toyota is Saturday at Columbus Motor Speedway. The K&N stock car series has become synonymous as a stepping stone or pathway into the upper echelons of NASCAR. This series has become a hallmark proving ground for developing NASCAR stars including guys like Chase Elliott, Alex Bowman, Darrel Wallace Jr and this year’s Sprint Cup Rookie years favorite Kyle Larson. All of these guys are now racing in one, or more, of the top three NASCAR Series and have competed at the speedway. Still, however, lots of fantastic young drivers that you can see on their way up the NASCAR ladder! His is a partial list of past and current NASCAR K&N drivers making a mark in NASCAR’s top three series’. Performances in Columbus K&N events listed in parenthesis. Alphabetic order. Alex Bowman (2011 – 2nd) - Currently 34th in Sprint Cup Standings Alex Bowman (born April 25, 1993) is an American stock car racing driver. He has competed in the ARCA Racing Series and the NASCAR Nationwide Series, finishing 11th in the latter series 2013 standings. Currently, he drives the No. 23 Toyota Camry for BK Racing in the Sprint Cup Series. Cale Conley (2011 – 18th, 2012 – 1st, 2013 – 2nd) In 2014, Cale Conley joined Richard Childress Racing’s NASCAR Nationwide Series driver lineup piloting the No. 33 Chevrolet Camaro. The Vienna, W. Va-native will run a limited schedule and will team up with crew chief Nick Harrison, who joined RCR in 2013. Harrisons crew chief experience spreads across 131 races in NASCAR’s top-three series and includes a Nationwide Series victory at Daytona International Speedway in July 2012 Matt DiBenedetto (2011 – 4th) - Currently 31st in Nationwide Standings Matt DiBenedetto (born July 27, 1991 in Grass Valley, California)[1] is an American stock car racing driver. He currently competes part-time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, driving the No. 46 Chevrolet for The Motorsports Group. Chase Elliot (2011 – 6th, 2012 – 15th) - Currently 3rd in Nationwide Standings Chase Elliott (born November 28, 1995 in Dawsonville, Georgia), is an American stock car racing driver. A development driver for Hendrick Motorsports, he currently competes full-time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, driving the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro for JR Motorsports. Gray Gaulding (2013 – 14th) - Currently 30th in Camping World Truck Series Gray Gaulding (born February 10, 1998) is an American stock car racing driver. A part-time competitor in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, he drives the No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado for NTS Motorsports. Max Gresham (2011 – 7th) - Currently 38th in Camping World Truck Series Max Gresham (born April 30, 1993 in Stockbridge, Georgia) is an American stock car racing driver. Winner of the 2011 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship, he has competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Brandon Jones - Currently 31st in Camping World Truck Series Driver in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East & NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for Turner Scott Motorsports. Finished 4th in the May 30 Dover Truck race. Ben Kennedy (2011 – 19th, 2012 – 7th, 2013 – 9th) - Currently 6th in Camping World Truck Series Ben Kennedy (born December 26, 1991 in Daytona Beach, Florida) is an American stock car racing driver. The great-grandson of NASCAR founder Bill France, Sr., he competes full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for Turner Scott Motorsports, driving the No. 31 Chevrolet. Dylan Kwasnieski (2013 – 3rd) - Currently 12th in Nationwide Standings Dylan Kwasniewski (KWAS-ness-KEY;[1] born May 31, 1995) is an American stock car racing driver. A champion in both the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and Pro Series West, he is contending for Rookie of the Year honors in the Nationwide Series driving the No. 31 and 42 Chevrolet Camaros for Turner Scott Motorsports in 2014. Corey Lajoie (2011 – 17th) Corey LaJoie (born September 25, 1991 in Kannapolis, North Carolina) is an American stock car racing driver. Son of two-time NASCAR Busch Series champion Randy LaJoie, he currently competes part-time in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, and is also a development driver for Richard Petty Motorsports. Kyle Larson (2012 – 21st) Currently 14th in Sprint Cup Standings Kyle Miyata Larson (born July 31, 1992 in Sacramento, California) is a Japanese American[1] stock car racing driver. The 2012 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Rookie of the Year and champion, he was the 2013 Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Larson is a Rookie of the Year contender for 2014 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, driving the No. 42 Chevrolet SS for Chip Ganassi Racing. Brett Moffitt – (2011 – 3rd, 2012 – 2nd, 2013 – 7th) Brett Moffitt (born August 7, 1992) is an American stock car racing driver. He currently competes full-time in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East for Hattori Racing Enterprises, and part-time in the Nationwide Series; he also is a test driver for Michael Waltrip Racing. Ben Rhodes - Currently 35th in Camping World Truck Series Ben Rhodes (born February 21, 1997 in Louisville, Kentucky) is an American stock car racing driver. He currently competes in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East for Turner Scott Motorsports. Darrell Wallace Jr (2011 – 1st, 2012 – 3rd) - Currently 8th in Camping World Truck Series Darrell Wallace, Jr. (born October 8, 1993 in Mobile, Alabama), also known as Bubba Wallace, is an American professional stock car racing driver. Signed as a development driver for Joe Gibbs Racing, Wallace currently competes in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, driving the No. 54 Toyota for Kyle Busch Motorsports.
