NASHUA:: - On July 3, 2014 members of the Nashua Police Departments Problem Oriented Policing Unit, arrested Yahaira Acevedo-Torres, 27, of 37 Crown Street, Apartment 8, Nashua, New Hampshire and Luis Ruiz-Gonzalez, 22, who did not have a fixed address at the time of his arrest. The arrests were the result of an investigation that was conducted by members of the Nashua Police Departments Narcotics Intelligence Division into the distribution of narcotics within the City of Nashua. During this investigation, it was learned that Acevedo-Torres and Ruiz-Gonzalez were making what appeared to be daily trips to the Nashua area strictly for the purpose of distributing narcotics to the citizens of the Nashua area. Acevedo-Torres was initially charged with two counts of Unlawful Sale of Narcotic Drug, Cocaine, and six counts of Criminal Liability for the Conduct of Another, the conduct being Unlawful Sale of Narcotic Drug, Cocaine. During the booking process following her arrest, Acevedo-Torres was found to be in possession of fifty-nine individually wrapped packages of Crack Cocaine, thirteen individually wrapped packages of Heroin, seven individually wrapped packages of Cocaine and an individually wrapped package containing fifty, 30 milligram Oxycodone Hydrochloride pills. Based on their investigation, members of the Narcotics Intelligence Division suspected that all of these narcotics would have been distributed during the course of the day to the citizens of Nashua. In total, the narcotics had an estimated street value of $5,200. Based on the narcotics that were found in her possession, Acevedo-Torres was charged with four counts of Possession of Narcotic Drug with the Intent to Distribute (Crack Cocaine, Cocaine, Heroin, and Oxycodone Hydrochloride). The amounts of the Crack Cocaine and Heroin were high enough to constitute an enhanced penalty for their corresponding charge. Ruiz-Gonzalez was charged with four counts of Unlawful Sale of Narcotic Drug, Cocaine, Second Offense, and one count of Criminal Liability for the Conduct of Another, the conduct being Unlawful Sale of Narcotic Drug, Cocaine. All of the above listed charges are Class A Felonies. On July 7, 2014, Acevedo-Torres and Ruiz-Gonzalez were arraigned at 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court.
