NATCA GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN PHONE CAMPAIGN DO NOT conduct the calls - TopicsExpress

NATCA GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN PHONE CAMPAIGN DO NOT conduct the calls at work or on duty time. BACKGROUND As you know, our dysfunctional Congress is at it again, playing political games with government funding and needlessly allowing the government to shutdown. A government shutdown negatively impacts aviation safety professionals in every area at the FAA. Important maintenance and modernization of the air traffic control system is suspended; aviation safety inspectors are not on duty providing oversight of the commercial and general aviation industries, including maintenance performed at domestic and foreign repair stations; implementation of new technology and procedures is on hold; processing of medical and pilots certificates is being needlessly delayed; the list goes on. The current situation is regrettable and unacceptable. Your voice is needed to help break through the noise in the halls of Congress. Please contact your congressional offices today. You can enter information at the following website for contact information for your two senators and representative: congressmerge/onlinedb/ You can also call the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 to be connected with the offices. Also, ask your friends and family to take action as well to end the shutdown and get federal employees back to work. When you are connected to the office, all you have to do is deliver this simple message: “Hello, I am a constituent from TOWN AND STATE and an active voter. I am extremely concerned about the government shutdown and how it is impacting the country’s aviation system. I am calling to urge the SENATOR/REPRESENTATIVE to work with other lawmakers and end the shutdown immediately.” A phone call lasting a few minutes will make a huge difference if everyone joins in this action alert. Take action right now and then send this along to friends and family and ask them to do the same. Together, we have a chance of getting our voices heard.
