NATION REMEMBERS ONE OF THE FOUNDING MEMBERS OF MUJAHIDEEN MOVEMENT- SHEIKH ABDUL HAMID It was a cold blooded scene when green water s of river Jehlum turned red on Nov. 19 1992. Three small boats boarded with some mujahideen were fired upon by the Army Personnel near Ali kadal. The intensity of firing was escalated to such an extent that drowning persons had no breathing chance. The army personnel cordoned off the river and began searching for the drowned persons.But they could not trace out anyone. On Nov 21, eleven dead bodies were fished out from the river Jehlum.The air was filled with Pro- independence slogans when the dead body of SHEIKH ABDUL HAMID was recovered from the river. SHEIKH ABDUL HAMID was truly a noble soul and a great freedom fighter. Today we pay our rich tributes to this son of our soil and the other ten noble souls at their 21st martydom anniversary...
