NATION SPORTS BEST XI OF 2014 TNM SUPER LEAGUE SEASON ( BY.: Peter Kanjere, News Analyst ) #Vincent_Gona (Bullets) . There were other outstanding Goalkeepers in the season. for example Wanderers Chipuwa Lived up to his promise by breaking into the flames with some three caps and also letting in the the last number of goals 22. Equally impressive was McDonald Harawa of Moyale Barracks, Who conceded 25 goals and had three cleen sheets in six games for the flames. But best Goalkeepers are judged by average saves per game, clean sheets, goal conceded and trophies won. Vincent Gona let in the fewest 18 goals, wone three trophies and kept most clean sheets. He sticks to basic using his vast experience age might not be on his side and often a picture of lack of confidence. #Victor_Limbani (Bullets) He effortlessly sat at midfield diamond, playing and ball winning while ensuring that shape, thereby protecting the teams defense and turning them into champions. A wealth of Flame midfield talent has kept him at bay, but five years in the super league makes him experienced enough to at least earn a Flames substitutes role. However, he needs to stand out more and stamp more authority on game. #Sankhani_Mkandaire (Big Bullets ): No Ore Fewer Defenders scored More League Goals Locally than this no-nonsence towering defender. His Brutal force, physique and ability to score from set pieces is exactly what the flames have been missing. unfortunately, he is overlooked and the sooner coach young chimodzi recognises this, the beter. there is no doubt tha Mkandawire is the reason bullets had a tightest defence and won the unprecedented treble. and it is never easy managing such an envious record with a three-man defence. He must avoid getting carried away and being overconfident. #Pilirani_Zonda (Big Bullets): He is so Good on the overap and has been through all the developmental stages. He has a knack for scoring spectacular long-range goals on the overlap. His Bullet in 3-0 thrashing of Blantyre United on the last day of the campaign cemented his status as one of the Best Right Backs. So good for club, but when thrown into action for the flames he flattered to deceive and he was substituted in the game we loss to zimbabwe in march. he needs to also prove himself for country. John Lanjesi of civo is onother contender, but he achieved nothing at personal and team level this season. Dave Moya from Epac was also consistent this season. #Lucky_Malata (silver strikers): He missed a considerable number of games through injury but Every-time he was rock-solid. he is not the most talented of defenders and does not often start play from the back, but he has all the attributes of a defender strong, Powerful, forceful, tireless and cool. Enock Likoswe of Wanderers Come second to Malata: Likoswe Came in quietly to lead the defence that was the second stingiest this season. He has the height and potential to become a quietly to lead the defence that was the second stngiest this season. he ha the height and potential to become aquality defender. his mastery of the basics is solid. his ball playing skills are average. #COACH_OF_THE_YEAR ( Elia Kananji) Bullets : He wn the Carlsberg cup, the intosports trophy and biggest of them all, the TNM Super League Champions. There is no doubt that the coming in of south-africa-Based Nsanzuwrimo Ramadhan added value to the bullets coaching Panel, but Kananji deserves all the credit for winning the other two cups and only missing out on the standard bank knockout Trophy. Coaches are judged on how a team plays and trophies--Kananji delivered on both fronts. attending advanced coaching courses is not optional if he is to make it even bigger. #Fisher_Kondowe (Big Bullets) He once again Proved that age is nothing but a number and for a player of hi age 40 to nail down a regular place shows much contribution he made to the bullets. before retiring, there is one last favour he needs to do for malawi football----drill the up and coming wingers on the art of crossing the ball ich-perfectly. He and Moyales Lameck Thindwa are the leagues longest serving players with 15 years at the Top of their game. More discipline as showed last season would Make Him a role model. #Isaac_Kaliyati (Azam Tigers): He established himself in the under-20 that came so close to qualifying africa youth champions and provided the penetration and goals for the Kau Kau in What was one of their season.he can play in either flank. it is too close a choice between Kaliyati and Dalitso Sailesi of Big Bullets Kaliyati must keep his feet on the grund and avoid becoming one-season wonder. #Malumbo_Gondwe (Azam Tigers) clement Mvula was so outstanding bossing Epacs Midfied this season, but the Azam tigers has a slight edge. cool and compose, strong on the tackle and a natural leader, this stout boy was once again the rock on which the kau kau Excelled to finish eight in the league and in standard bank knockout trophy final. Gondwe needs consistency. #Francis_Mlimbika (Wanderers) His development has been gradual from being an under 17 regular to now a trusted Flames left back whosr understanding of defensive duties and his cool headed approach makes his one for the future. he deserves the captaincy armband at wanderers. it is a close call between Mulimbika and equally splendid Yamikani Fodya of Big Bullets. Mlimbika must add variety to his game, but also aiming to score. he is als too conservative. #Gastin_Sinkonda_and_Deus_Nkutu ( Moyale ) Mafco were the seasons highest scoring team, but on individual it was Moyale Barracks partners in scoring who were consistent through out the season. the works of their legs speaks for themselves as they scored 17 and 16 respectively. sinkonda needs ti deliver in big games and transfer club form to country otherwise his one goal in ove 10 games is a poor return. Nkutu is too raw, but he must be given a chance to prove himself in the flames. the same applies to Kumbukani mwambene of Red Lions Who emerged third on the scorers list. ( National Sports once agan gives its stand-out players for the just-ended 2014 TNM Super League Based on Matches coverd, statisticks and abservaton from analysts. as per tradiotion, the team of the year will fall into a 4-4-2 System. )
