NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PLATEAU STATE STUDENTS (NAPSS) AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY ZARIA. MY DREAMS FOR NAPPS DELIVERED ON MANIFESTO DAY…. GREATEST NAPSSITES! GREATEST NAPSSITES!! GREAT NAPSSITES I want to use this opportunity to welcome back all Napssites from the break and also congratulate our new students for achieving a great feat of gaining admission into this noble citadel of academic and character modeling. Am happy and rejoice with you. However let me quickly say that I know that the journey has not been easy and would not be easy but I hope we find solace and courage in the words of our governor Dr Jonah David Jang who always remind and persuade us to remain resilient, creative and posses the strength of character the plateau people are known for. Comrades, today I present myself to you with extreme humility like an obedient clay in the hands of a creative porter as we all gather again at this critical moment as distinguish comrades and great ambassadors of our adorable and ever cherished state, to hear from those we intend to bestow the task of rebuilding our vibrant association to the height we all crave and pray for. Indeed the mountain may seem too high to climb and the valley too deep to walk through, but with purposeful and transparent leadership like what I intend to offer if voted into office as president of this great union, the high mountains shall be leveled and the valleys filled up as paths to success for our generation and generations yet unborn. Furthermore, as a comrade in the struggle am quite aware of the challenges we face as Napssites which include over reliance on proceeds from payment of scholarship as source of income for the union, poor information dissemination resulting to poor attendance during congress ,poor attitudinal response towards pertinent issues affecting the union. With this in mind, I submit myself to pursue and sustain positive change in our union when voted into office. This change I seek and believe it emerges from an in-depth commitment and desire for change. However the change cannot be possible unless we Napssites decide to pursue that change by voting me as president come tomorrow March 8, 2014. It is no case that we differ in our religious ,ethnic and political affiliations but the change I believe and pursue transcends religious and ethnic boundaries. This change I advocate emerges not from the parochial interest of a small group but from the overwhelming desires and aspirations of all Napssites .Regardless of whether you are a muslim or Christian, Ngas, Goemai or Mwaghavul, Taroh or berom, these problems we face are indeed not peculiar to any group hence demands a collective approach which is a vote for NENROT YOLKA. Am one of you and would never betray you. Hence when voted into office as president, I would work towards the following; Firstly on the issue of finance, permit me to refer you back to the financial report of the 2012/2013 section during which I served this union as financial secretary. During this period, there was an overwhelming increase in income as a result of perpetual dedication of officials to explore other sources of revenue to cater for the expenses of the union. Resultantly the association today boost of a functional business centre as a result of our effort. When voted into office I would with your co-operation pursue the dream of a financially buoyant Napss embarked upon by my predecessor. Regarding the issue of poor publicity, am quite aware that it’s not the primary responsibility of the president to publicize meetings because of the existence of the office of the P.R.O. However I shall in agreement with the appropriate office use the extensive network develop during my campaign which saw me interact with over 200 Napssites with a single stroke of a keyboard to ensure a wider and more efficient publicity system. Also, been a loyal and up-to-date servant of this union, am aware of the existence of a magazine committee saddle with the burden of overseeing the production of qualitative and educative magazine for this union. When voted into office, I promise to sacrifice my days and nights until victory is declared. In conclusion, fellow Napssites let NO one deceive you into voting base on sentiments. This is a solemn time for a positive change in Napss and the future shall surely judge us. MAKE THE WISE CHOICE, WITH A VOTE FOR NENROT YOLKA AS PRESIDENT. LONG LIVE NAPSS! LONG LIVE ABU ZARIA!!
