NATIONAL CERTIFICATION SHOWS COMMITMENT TO STUDENT SUCCESS! Several teachers in the Dysart Unified School District attained the prestigious honor by becoming National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) including: Michael Goto, Willow Canyon High School; Jessica Haug, Sonoran Heights, Kara Koziol, Mountain View; Sheri Loyd, Riverview; and Mary Morris, Riverview. Connie Ferguson, art teacher at Riverview School, was granted a National Board Certification renewal. Deborah Benton, school nurse at Valley Vista High School, received National Certification for School Nurses. Benton is one of only 27 school nurses in the state of Arizona who hold this specific national certification. Research has shown that National Board Certified Teachers have significant impact on student achievement. By completing the certification renewal process, accomplished teachers show that they continue to meet the nations highest teaching standards. National Board Certified Teachers will be recognized and honored at the AZ K12 Centers Celebration of Accomplished Teaching Dinner being held on February 1, 2014.
