NATIONAL HERITAGE WEEK EVENTS Thursday 22 August Joe Craig who is celebrating fifty years in Tullamore this year will give a talk on his memories of being a Railway man. He came to Tullamore in 1963 as Station Master and has many memories of his time on the Railways prior to that and after 1963. It should be a very enjoyable evening and we look forward to having you. Light refreshments will be served after the meeting. Sunday 25 August Fergal McCabe will join with Michael Byrne to give a walk in respect of the Northern side of Tullamore. Last year there was a very large attendance for the walk from the town park to O’Connor Square. This year the walk will commence at O’Connor Square for convenience but then quickly move to Church Street , O’Carroll Street, Market Square, Harbour Street, Convent Road, William Street and finish at Tullamore Dew Centre. The walk should be completed by about 4.30p.m. at Tullamore Dew Visitor Centre. Open week at the Offaly History Centre with special discounts on books for visitors and a chance to see the collection of photographs on display – 9-4pm Monday to Friday.
