NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR SPORTS (NIS) PLANS BIG FOR CHILDREN Athletics, Badminton, Judo and Taekwondo benefit The National Institute for Sports (NIS) is planning a grooming school for upcoming and young athletes in four sports under the aegis of the National Institute for Sports (NIS) The beneficiaries of this programme are young children from 13 – 15 years. Its main purpose is to begin now to train athletes for future Olympic games and other international competitions under the eagle eyes and guidance of Professional coaches. This can be seen as an enduring coaching clinic that will last for a long time. In such ways as the likes of Usain Bolt, the Williams Sisters, Chika Chukwumerije and a host of top sports performers were discovered. As a pilot program, the Institute plans to start with Athletics, Badminton, Judo and Taekwondo. A total of 10 athletes would benefit from the programme at the beginning and may be enlarged depending on the success and response of the children. NIS, therefore, is using this opportunity to call on coaches of these sports to cooperate by sending the names of their wards who are within these age groups to the Institute.
